10/8/2010 · The cost difference between a non-pull boost Princeton and a Reissue isn't such that it is worth it to me to get a Reissue. Orig Tweed Bassman is many times the cost of a reissue. Princeton's ? A couple hundred bucks. That's what I've never understood. Especially guys that buy a brand-new reissue. Blackface's are a whole different ball of wax.

Initially I bought the 68 silverface Princeton reissue from sweetwater and it arrived with a very loud rattle. I returned it. I then decided I would sell the hot Rod Deluxe on Craigslist and buy the 68 deluxe reverb Silverface reissue from sweetwater and use this one amp for both my studio and live needs.

Alternatives. Fender’s ‘65 Princeton Reverb reissue is the obvious choice if you just want classic Fender clean, but a real silverface Princeton Reverb, and many of its boutique clones and even kits, will set you back more than the cost of this ‘68 Custom.
